I should be writing my social studies lesson plans but first I’ll take a moment to jot down what’s on my mind.
Today is my friend Jodianne’s birthday. I hope to see her for a bit later.

Seven years ago today I was with Jodianne and our pal Lauren in Philly to celebrate Jodi’s birthday. It was first Friday. The only first Friday I’ve actually ever been to despite living in the city for three years.
We passed some stickers on a boarded up building and took a photo of them. A stranger approached, we briefly spoke, and he disappeared. I couldn’t stop thinking about him the rest of the evening. Who was he? Why did he speak to us? What the hell would I find on that website when I got home?

To cut the story short, that stranger became someone who inspires me, encourages me, and understands me. He puts up with my shit and loves me for who I am. He likes my freckles, too.

I wouldn’t have ever imagined seven years ago that In 2012 we’d be running a business and purchasing a home together.
